A Contest!

I love contests.

I also love knitters.

So I figured why not do a contest for knitters?

My sock pattern, “La Vie de Bois” currently has 84 hearts (favorites) on Ravelry.  Yeay!  If I can get 100 hearts on the pattern, I will give away a copy of the pattern FREE to one of the favroriters.  I know that’s not a word – I made it up.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Go here.

2. On the pattern page, click “add to favs” on the right hand side.  Adding tags or not is up to you.

3. Watch here and the HH Rav group to see who the winner is.  I’m really hoping to have 100 hearts by the tenth.

Thank you to all those who have supported the pattern, the shop, and me personally this past year.  I appreciate all the love!

Happy knitting!

I blogged last time about all the knitting projects I’ve been trying to finish up so that I can cast on something new.  I’ve knit about four rows total on those projects because I’ve been working on a super secret project that’s just about to launch.  What I can tell you is that it involves yarn (lots of it).  I’ve been knitting swatches of these yarns for photographing purposes.  A four inch stockinette swatch has 40 stitches and 50 rows (including a three stitch/row border of seed stitch to keep it from curling).  I been knitting and blocking and fondling this yarn.  I have four swatches complete – I need to make ten more.  I’ll be doing a LOT of swatching for this project.  I think I’ll seam the swatches together and begin a sock yarn blanket.  It’ll take me  a decade to have enough squares, but they’re fun and quick to knit so I don’t really mind.  I’m loving how the yarns look all knit up, and I’m hoping that you will, too.

But I can’t really talk about it.  Yet.  Another week or two should see us through to the launch.

I have been doing a bit of spinning – if I can, I’ll spin the rest of the most recent CJ Kopec fiber up and get it ready to ply.  I’d love to have it done this week, but I don’t know if that will happen.

That’s all I’ve got for right now – what’s new with you?
